“I just want to let you know my first 1 1/2 day trek and camp with your bladder at Raven Rock State Park in Lillington, North Carolina was a major success. My mother is interested in the journey across the US I will be embarking on in a few weeks and was interested to go camping with me before I set out. Taking primarily my prospective gear to test in a hiking backpack and her lugging along odds and ends in a small, free cruise-ship backpack she had acquired (including a sleeping bag in a old fashioned cloth sack that looked like it had a dead body in it, ha ha) we successfully made the 2 1/2 mile trek to our camp site.
The water bladder preformed better than I would have ever thought, where years ago I had thought products like these were almost a status symbol for hardened campers. However, it freed up so much space in my pack and made the trek easier than ever with quick sips rather than stopping to dig a bottle out of a side pocket or inside the pack. We brought a few water bottles with us but ultimately had the perfect amount of H2O for the trip to drink and cook with thanks to the 3 liters.
One of my favorite things about the bladder was the insulated case, having cool water on the way up the mountain was refreshing and cool water again down the mountain was surprising (as during the night the cool air re-chilled the water for the subsequent day). Also the case takes up literally no extra room in a rucksack, if anything it has the bladder slide into place significantly easier.
One of the most astounding things that happened, however, is my mother decided to buy one of your Crystal Creek bladders right when we got home for future adventures. This is a woman who I have not seen drink water out of anything besides a plastic water bottle for years unless there were dire times at hand, almost as if it were an obsessive-compulsive occurrence. I see this as a big complement to your product, as I have tried just about every alternative to get her to drink more water that is not out of wasteful, small disposable water bottle.
I want to thank you for a great product that I may unknowingly overlooked on my travels and making your version of such high quality I have no worries about it’s longevity.
P.S. Your last newsletter about taking care of gear to make it last was very informative and appreciate the email there.”
I will be sharing more of these now that we have a little landing spot for them. If you want to leave a testimonial just sent me an email by clicking here.
